Why I'm a Christian Minimalist

Minimalism.

What comes to your mind when you hear that word. Maybe, you think of an empty house, a guy with one shirt, someone living out of their car.

Maybe you think of a hippy traveling around the world with just the belongings that can fit in his backpack. Maybe you think of someone ditching all their worldly possession just for the fun of it. but what really is minimalism?

In an article written by JOSHUA BECKER, he states ·

“MINIMALISM IS INTENTIONALITY. It is marked by clarity, purpose, and intentionality. At its core, minimalism is the intentional promotion of the things we most value and the removal of everything that distracts us from it.”

Promotion of things we value and the removal of things that distract us from it.

What is the “it”?

What is it that you most value?

Because what I think minimalism is good at, is that it gets at peoples “it”. And what most people come to realize is that what they most value is not cars, houses, new clothes, new video games, furniture, new equipment, or stuff.

When we get to the center of what really matters in your life, you need to tap into your core beliefs, values, why you believe you’re here, and what you believe you’re here to do....
