BMW R100RS, Stillington to Farlington

Описание к видео BMW R100RS, Stillington to Farlington

A bit of footage from one of my rides out on my 1981 BMW R100RS.

Wind noise was too noisy, I've left a short bit of video without music mid way through the video so you can hear what I mean. I intend to improve video sound next year, hopefully.

The reason I haven't had the bike out much this year is because of a few reasons.
Mainly it needs an oil filter change, the filter in the bike hasn't been changed since 1995. The bike was off the road for most of the time, late last year I decided to get it up and running again, fork stanchions re-chromed and forks rebuilt. I replaced both master brake cylinders and replaced brake hoses with stainless ones. New tyres and I then changed all the oils so I could start it up and give it a test run with the intention of changing the oil filter a little later.. that never happened, a leaky carb was causing me a problem. It was ok while riding it, as it drank the fuel quicker than it could leak, but at a stand still it would drip fuel. I replaced the carb's float which seemed to work but after standing over the winter the problem started again.

Another reason is the fact that it's a pain to get out of the garage, to open the up and over door I have to move two cars off the drive and park them on the road, and when I get back do the reverse.. My little BMW G310R is so much easier to get out as I can simply use the side door, something I can't do with the R100RS.
In the summer months I wanted to be out riding, not inside working on the bike so I was out and about on my other motorbike.. I'd say I'd get the work done this winter but it's cold in the garage and at just coming up to 76 years of age I am not keen on rolling about on a cold garage floor.. we'll see.
