The new album from the Dutch band Epinikion, titled The Force of Nature*, was released today, February 6, 2026 (available independently on various platforms). This is the band's second full-length album, following their debut *Inquisition (2022), and consolidates their symphonic metal style with powerful, dramatic, and cinematic elements.
The album is described as vibrant, intriguing, and epic, with top-notch production by Jacob Hansen (known for his work with Delain, Epica, Volbeat, and other names in symphonic/power metal). The cover art is by the renowned Giannis Nakos (Remedy Art Design), conveying an atmosphere of elemental forces, imposing nature, and cosmic energy.
Musically, The Force of Nature combines grandiose orchestrations, heavy guitars, atmospheric keyboards, and the striking and powerful voice of vocalist Kimberley Jongen. Initial reviews highlight the musical variety (from heavier moments to emotional ballads), the crystal-clear production, and the balance between symphonic heaviness and melodic hooks. It's an album that should appeal to fans of Epica, Delain, Within Temptation (more modern phase), Sirenia, and similar bands.
If you enjoy symphonic metal with strong female vocals, rich orchestrations, and a dramatic and energetic feel, The Force of Nature is a very welcome addition to the genre in 2026. It's already available on Spotify, Bandcamp, YouTube, and other platforms — and the official music video for the title track is already circulating, showcasing the band's visual prowess.
