Honda Civic Type R 2024 review: Can a hot hatch be a track weapon? Toyota GR Corolla rival tested!

The 2024 Honda Civic Type R is more than just a small hatchback; it's a hot hatch – and a sizzling one at that. In fact, the whole concept of cheap automotive thrills has changed a lot in the past decade with the advent of all-wheel-drive systems and dual-clutch transmissions, although the Japanese model in question has resisted those two particular tides.

That's right; the Civic Type R has persisted with front-wheel drive and manual gearbox, an enthusiast-friendly combination that continues to deliver plenty of smiles. To that end, maybe the Honda has already perfected the hot-hatch formula and rightly sticks to it. That said, its new-generation model's turbocharged four-cylinder power is the hardest-hitting yet.
