You braved desolate gardens and eerie cemeteries and fought your way through cultists in the inner chambers of the mausoleum. Now you find yourself in complex underground vaults filled with even more of the undead and then... mines. Hey. Cults are expensive.

The difference between Novice and Warrior difficulties is how much HP monsters have and how much damage you take.
On Novice you take half damage from melee attacks, enemy projectiles and hazards like force fields.
Your shots deal fixed 1 damage and on Novice monsters' HP is divided by 4 (integer division). This makes them significantly less damage sponge-y in later stages. The mechanic is slightly different in CatacombGL where your Magic Missiles instead deal 4 damage on Novice and enemy HP remains identical as on Warrior. This naturally causes some enemies to take the extra remainder hit to die. For example, Zombies have 5 HP and on vanilla Novice die in a single shot but need two shots in CatacombGL.
