Disneyland Heliport - Tragedy at the Happiest Place on Earth

This is the Legacy of the Disneyland heliport. The helicopter shuttled guests from Disneyland to LAX and back for 15 years. During that time, the helicopter heliport moved three times due to expansion at the park. The 1960 heliport would be the last site, near where the Disneyland Hotel is today. The helicopter service would have two major tragedies in three months, as Los Angeles Airways Flight 841 crashed into a dairy field. Three months later Los Angeles Airways Flight 417 would crash into a city park in Compton.
This would mark the beginning of the end for the Disneyland Heliport.
