These are the final moments of our Ebay auction of autographed Michael Jordan basketball shoes. At face value it's just a funny video of two people freaking out about their Ebay success, but there is a more inspiring side to the story...

During the month of November I read the book "The Magic" along with two friends. Every day for 28 days we read a chapter and did an exercise in gratitude, the idea being that daily practice and focus on what you have and what you are grateful for will bring more abundance into all areas of your life. Day 17's practice was called The Magic Check and I printed off a template and wrote myself a magic cheque for $2,500 dated Nov 19th.

On Dec 2nd, my husband went down into the crawlspace to the get the Christmas decorations and came up with a pair of autographed Michael Jordan basketball shoes that he had forgotten about in storage for 17 years. We decided to throw them up on Ebay and see what happened. A week later, in the final seconds of bidding, our auction was won with a bid of $2,523.

On the third day of the auction when bidding was stalled at $120, I showed my husband the magic cheque and I told him with absolute certainty that the shoes would sell for $2,500 and to have faith. I don't believe in coincidences; I believe in the power of our thoughts and the power of feeling that our thoughts create.

Focus on what you have and what you want instead of focusing on what you don't have and what you don't want. It's that simple. Even in negative situations, try to find something positive to give attention to so you don't end up attracting more negativity. Make positive thinking a habit, and gratitude a daily practice and see how your life transforms. It has worked for me in countless ways, beyond this one instance of financial abundance...this practice has brought me more love, more joy, more peace, more opportunity & more meaningful connections.
