The Delhi Police has launched Operation Shastra, a major crackdown against individuals using social media platforms to spread fear by posting pictures with illegal weapons and abusive content. The operation involved more than 500 police teams and over 2,000 personnel, leading to the investigation of 6,000+ social media profiles, 83 arrests, registration of 61 FIRs, and the seizure of weapons and live cartridges.
This video also explains Delhi Police’s clarification regarding rumours of a surge in missing girls in the national capital. Authorities revealed that panic was being artificially created through paid promotions on social media and warned of strict action against those spreading misinformation for monetary gain. Official data shows that missing-person cases in Delhi have remained stable over the years, with a recovery rate of nearly 77%.
