I found the definitive guide for anyone booting up a PC in the early 90s: the "Getting Started with your Personal Computer DOS" VHS from 1992. Before graphical interfaces and mouse clicks, everything began with the MS-DOS command prompt. This tape was how a generation learned to navigate their 386s and 486s.

In this video, I pop in the tape and follow the entire lesson, learning how to manage directories, format floppy disks (remember those?!), and run programs using only cryptic commands. We'll see how challenging it was to use a computer before the internet and graphical operating systems took over!
