Wiping Over Socks During Wudu | Abu Bakr Zoud

A few quick notes:

The one who completely denies the wiping of the foot, has denied a part of the Quran and Sunnah and must repent and accept the truth.

It’s also important to note that the scholars of Islam have mentioned a difference of opinion concerning wiping the sock that is not made from leather.

However, the correct opinion inshallah, is that any footwear that is holding on to the foot, is above the ankle and is pure, then it’s permissible to wipe over it. Wallahu Aalam.


How to wipe the socks/footwear?
You wipe both feet at the same time, over the sock (not underneath) ONCE, from the toes till the ankle.

You may wipe over any footwear so long as it’s holding on to the foot, above the ankle and is pure. If your shoe is above the ankle and you wipe over it after having lost wudu, then you may continue to wipe over the shoe for 24 hours. If you remove it during this time, you will not be able to wipe over them again.

Removing the socks/footwear doesn’t nullify the Wudu.
