ITV Britain's Got Talent winner rumbled ahead of live shows as 'inspiring' act overtakes favourite

Denise and Stefan, a blind couple from Stoke-on-Trent, have been tipped to win the 17th series of Britain's Got Talent. They wowed judges Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, and Alesha Dixon with their rendition of Climb Every Mountain from The Sound of Music. Despite receiving a standing ovation from the audience, Denise and Stefan were not rewarded with a Golden Buzzer and were sent through to the next round of auditions. Ladbrokes predicts the duo could win the series altogether, surpassing previous and heavily contested favourite Sydnie Christmas. Sydnie had previously been praised for her cover of Tomorrow from the musical Annie, but her Golden Buzzer was not rewarded. The semi-finals are set to take place at the Eventim Apollo in London, with the next stage likely to take place from May 27 to May 31.
