Описание к видео HOW TO PAINT REALISTIC BIRDS ALLA PRIMA IN OILS -with Suzanne Barrett Justis

HOW TO PAINT REALISTIC BIRDS ALLA PRIMA IN OILS -with Suzanne Barrett Justis

Learn how to paint realistic birds alla prima in oils with this easy to follow oil painting tutorial. This easy step by step speed painting video is made for beginners as well as advanced painters. I am using oil paints in this video, but a lot of these same painting techniques can be applied with acrylic paints

Watch or follow along as I paint the Carolina Wren alla prima, from start to finish starting with a rough vine charcoal drawing. I will go over the paint palette and talk a little about color mixing as I go along. I will show you how I layer the impasto paint to create detail in the feathers and use a paint scraper to help create the feet. You will also learn to use impasto paints to create the fine details in feathers and other details to create the believability in your work.

Chapters;
00:00 Intro to Carolina Wren
01:29 The set up for the painting including the pain palette
04:28 Blocking in the bird with paint
09:06 Layering impasto paint for detail
13:27 Putting in the stick
14:30 Using the paint scraper and rigger brush to put the feet and legs in
17:22 Addition of Cad Yellow to palette
19:20 Last bit of detail to finish up the Carolina Wren

Follow or paint along and learn my painting process of this original artwork. I generally use Rosemary and Company paint brushes and will include the link here for your consideration

one of the brush I used for the most was a Synthetic Shiraz pointed rigger, I will also leave you the link to the brush here. It is a very versatile brush, and you can see that if was able to do everything I asked of it in this painting tutorial

I also used several of the Eclipse long Filberts of various sizes, you can find them here

and Ivory long filberts, my " work horse brush" I love them.
