Pollinating Tomatoes, Harvesting Greens and a 100 Acre Greenhouse

Our work day at the hydroponic greenhouse was spent harvesting beet greens, pollinating tomatoes and picking the first cucumbers of the year. We had extra beet greens and made my favorite smoothie for lunch. Then I pollinated tomatoes using a very interesting tool. We also discovered some cucumbers hiding under some leaves and got to eat some.

I ordered something really cool to grow this year in the high tunnel - Carolina Reapers! The hottest pepper in the world. I'm excited to see how they grow hydroponically. At the end, there is some really cool footage Doug had from last year. Before the pandemic, he and Katy toured on of the largest greenhouses in the country that grows orchids, succulents and other house plants. Hope you like seeing it.
