This morning began with frost on the ground and a clear blue sky. That wintry sharpness that summons focus. I had no option but to grab the camera and walk towards the sunrise.

I ended up at a nearby nature reserve, surrounded by the kind of beauty only freezing temperatures seem to reveal.
With the sun still low in the sky, the light was dramatic enough that I stepped in front of the lens again just to see how it played across the scene.

I didn’t set out with a narrative, but one seemed to appear on its own. Something reflective. Something a bit pensive.
I’m glad I went out. Glad I captured it. And I really enjoyed shaping the look in the grade.
