We came here to condemn the house arrest of Ms Benazir Bhutto but the police started baton charging on us and they forcibly put us into their vans and arrested dozens of our activists.

"There are credible and corroborated intelligence reports that terrorist groups and various other extremist elements are out to target Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto. There is real threat to the life of Mohtarma Benazir. There is a real threat to her. The government is taking exceptional security measures to ward off the threat and ensure her safety. The government is constantly sensitising Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto through her security advisors about the looming threat, advising her to avoid long public exposures."
