Several weeks ago, at the start of March of this year, Ireland was hit by Storm Emma, which brought with it the worst snow in almost 40 years. The entire country shut down, schools and shops closed up, people locked themselves in to keep warm, and because Ireland is not a country that is used to any extreme weather conditions, most roads were completely impassable.

During the storm, we found ourselves stranded in a house over 200 years old, with single glazed windows and no form of heating except for a fire in each main room, to shoot a video for my song 'Spent So Long'. We would have to stay beside the fire to keep warm, and every hour or so, one of us would have to go out take turns to stock up on branches, taken from the grounds of the house to keep the fire lighting. It felt like we had completely stepped back in time, and apart from a few raw bulbs and our camera equipment, modern life pretty much disappeared.

It was in one of the basement rooms that we decided to shoot a stripped back video for my song 'Spent So Long', with just me and my old electric guitar. My fingers were almost frozen after playing, and you can see the coldness in my breath, but I'm so happy that we managed to capture this moment on video, and now I get to share it with you all.
