Set against restored visuals of 1980s Singapore, this song tells a deeply personal story rooted in Ang Mo Kio — a neighbourhood shaped by everyday lives and small shop owners who quietly held communities together.

My father was one of them.

Years ago, on the ninth day of Chinese New Year, he passed away suddenly while washing the fridge at his fruit shop. In that instant, time stopped. For me, that place — and that era — became frozen in time.

Today, I have my own child. I tell her stories about her grandfather — who he was, the shop he ran, the place he stood, and the life he lived. In my mind, he is still there. Still part of Ang Mo Kio. Still part of that moment in time.

Frozen in Time is my way of remembering him —
and of passing that memory forward.
