満洲事変後に激化した抗日運動を背景に、1932年1月28日に起きた武力衝突より勃発した第一次上海事変について、閘北方面における海軍陸戦隊の活動、陸軍第九師団の上陸、重砲兵隊による呉淞攻撃から、歩兵第22連隊による嘉定入城までが、淡々と描かれている。

「フィルムは記録する ―国立映画アーカイブ歴史映像ポータル―」では、1922年から1936年までに製作された49作品を新たに公開いたします。この時期の前半は、文部省製作による秀作や長篇の観光映画などが注目されますが、満州事変勃発以降の作品になると、軍事色の急速な高まりを伺うことができます。国立映画アーカイブでは、今後も随時公開作品を増やしていく予定です。ぜひサイトをお訪ねください。

The third edition of this site presents 49 additional titles covering the years from 1922 to 1936. While the earlier years see some masterworks produced by the Ministry of Education and a feature-length tourism film,the selection after the Manchurian Incident represents the rapid growth of militarism.
