Piotr Garlej shares a personal story of almost ending up in jail due to ineffective communication and highlights the importance of communication in preventing disasters. To achieve effective communication, the author suggests using the acronym SIMPLE, which stands for Structured, Inclusive, Minimalistic, Pictorial, Leading, and Empathetic communication. Structured communication involves presenting information in a clear and organized manner, while inclusive communication involves considering and incorporating the opinions of others. Minimalistic communication focuses on providing only necessary information, while pictorial communication uses visual aids to enhance understanding. Leading communication involves guiding the audience towards the desired outcome, while empathetic communication takes into account the emotions and perspectives of the audience. Piotr Garlej is a communication expert and presentation designer. He runs his own presentation design agency, SlideFormation. He is also a lecturer at Warsaw Collegium Civitas University where he teaches students how to create great presentations.
