The special session of the Indian Parliament has introduced the 128th Constitution Amendment Bill 2023 to provide 33% reservation for women in Lok Sabha and the State legislative assemblies. The bill widely known as the Women Reservation Bill intends to reserve one-third of all seats in the Lok Sabha as well as the state legislative assemblies to women representatives. The proposed women reservation bill amends Article 330A, 332A, 239AA and Article 334 of the Constitution of India. The proposed women reservation will come into force after the next delimitation.
