 An executive producer for Daredevil: Born Again has explained the biggest difference between seasons 1 and 2 of the hit Marvel Cinematic Universe show. Daredevil: Born Again ushered in a new era for Marvel Television, as the studio shifted its focus from short, limited-series experiences with major tie-ins to the franchise's cinematic storyline to more independent shows with multi-season potential.  It wasn't an easy road to getting Daredevil: Born Again to premiere on the small screen, however, as the show underwent a significant creative overhaul when Dario Scardapane, an executive producer for fellow Netflix alum The Punisher, took over as showrunner. Major parts of Born Again's original version had already been filmed, and Scardapane and his writers were tasked with integrating those pieces into their new story.  This is perhaps most obvious in Daredevil: Born Again season 1, episode 5, "With Interest," which feels like a side quest in which Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox) takes down bank robbers with a little help from Ms. Marvel's father. Thankfully, though, as EP Jesse Wigutow told Collider, season 2 can instead operate on a semi-blank slate, allowing them to produce this upcoming outing of Born Again with a "singular vision": What This Means For Daredevil: Born Again Season 2  Bringing two different versions of the same show together story-wise is difficult enough, but what might be even more awkward is mixing two very different narrative tones into one cohesive, overarching show.  There's a striking discrepancy in atmosphere and purpose between the season 1 premiere and the finale that Wigutow referenced during his interview, and Matthew's adventure with Yusuf Khan (Mohan Kapur), a clear remnant of the franchise's desire to connect each new story to every corner of the MCU.  Now, and especially with the return of another familiar Defenders-era face, Krysten Ritter's Jessica Jones, Daredevil: Born Again season 2 can carve out its own storytelling legacy under the MCU's umbrella. With Born Again season 2 set to be bigger than season 1, not being shackled by any other expectations is the best thing that could happen to this show, especially as Daredevil's and Mayor Fisk's "war" heats up.  Wigu
