Captain Jack McCarthy

In the early 1970's a friend and myself thought we would go and visit WPIX TV channel 11 in NY. We snuck in and started looking around. The guard must have left his post for a minuet or two. We made our way to the heart of the studio. We saw a glass wall with 16mm movie projectors behind them, wow ,Star Trek was being played and was being broadcast. It looked all automated, no one was around. A little while later I saw a familiar figure down the other end of the hall, I waived and he waived back, it was Captain Jack McCarthy. He asked us how we got into the building and we said we just walked right in, I think we caught him by surprise. Instead of throwing us out he was very nice to us and showed us around. We then went into his office where I saw his Captains coat on a hanger and he signed postcards for us. The postcard and autograph are in this video. He was a very very nice man! I remember his kindness to this very day! I bet they tightened up security after our visit. Thanks Captain Jack McCarthy ! ! What a guy !
