How to go Dawki?
Dawki is situated at 100 km from Shillong
It take 3 hrs from Shillong to reach Dawki
Situated near Bangladesh border, Umngot river is the cleanest river in india. It is famous for its crystal clear water.

1.Hire a cab from Shillong or cherapunji
2.Boat charges 1000 rs for 1 hr ride
3.Best Time to visit: Post Monsoon till Jan- Feb.
Boating is closed in rainy season
4.Visit cleanest village and living root bridge nearby if you want to skip double decker Bridge (skip only if you are old and can't walk)

Total trip plan:

Day 1:
Mumbai to shillong flight
Stay at hotel alpine continental, police bazar, shillong.. shop good winter clothes at police bazar. Few veg hotels are available nearby like 'Jiva'

Day 2:
Start journey towards cherrapunji early, see elephant fall inbetween.. Visit Wei sodong waterfall (must visit place. Have lunch at orange root resort on the way (thali is good).. visit sunset at Noh kalikai fall..Do your stay at Jiva resort, cherapunji.. beautiful one

Day 3:
Visit Mosai caves early in the morning. Then visit double decker bridge.. Don't take heavy bag with you. Just one pair of cloth for bath at pond near double Decker Bridge. Don't visit single decker. Hire a guide at rupees 700.. if U have kids with you then he will take 2000 extra to carry him/her. It's total 4 hrs to and fro trek Lil exhausting but memorable one. Come back at hv rest in your resort. If u want to know about bamboo trek then see online and go for it. U can go to Dawki village also to stay overnight in tent near cleanest river in asia

Day 4
Go to Dawki village and visit to umngot river. Boating 1 hr is for 1200 rs. Spend 2,3 hrs there.have swim or u can do scuba diving if u want.
Visit cleanest village and living root bridge nearby.. (not necessary, not so special)
Overnight stay at shillong.

Day 5...
Start Early at '2 am' for nongjrong village. (2 hrs journey) see the most amazing sunrise.. where u can see clouds below you.. This is the most beautiful place in Meghalaya.

Come back around 10 am to city on the same day visit wards lake, laitlum canyon for sunset( nice place), sweet fall(sweet fall is optional)

Day 6
See Krang Suri waterfall early in the morning
And proceed to kaziranga national park.
Book resort near Central gate. N book elephant safari through resort only for next morning.(must thing)

Day 7
Elephant safari early morning
Come back do lunch n to jeep Safari afternoon (different experience)

Day 8
Visit Kamakhya temple and go to airport at Guwahati..
