Baba Rao Muhammad Sharif lives in a village called Chak 24 SP in tehsil & district Pakpattan. In 1947 he had to leave his native village Khairari (district Rohtak in 1947) Haryana, India. Khairari was a village of muslim Rajpoots. Rajpoots muslims were living in dozens of villages in that area. They were farmers and the youth joined army as English liked to take Rajpoot young men in forces.
The life was peaceful and cozy in Khairari. In 1947, Khairari was safe as it was known a village of army men who had weapons and training.
He recalls many details of life in Khairari and surrounding villages. They had to leave their village and belongings.
It is a story of pains and plights. It is also a story of love and sacrifice. At Bhiwani railway station a sikh police officer did everything to save the lives of muslim migrants. He protected the people risking his own life.
He has much more to tell. Watch, share and subscribe.
