Our new compact crossover concept, the Lexus UX Concept, makes its world debut at the 2016 Paris motor show, showcasing our vision for a compact SUV of the future. Lexus Interior designer, Alexandre Gommier, gives an insight into the UX Concept and some of its intriguing and immersive features.

Here at Lexus, we understand that one of the greatest challenges in any design process is creating something unique and original, but thanks to the work of designers such as Gommier, the UX Concept has been imagined and is ready to captivate drivers.

The UX Concept was designed by ED2, Lexus' design centre in the South of France, to redefine the driving experience and create something completely immersive. The Concept is rooted in our expertise in the SUV market, as we fuse off-road capacity with premium luxury.

The Concept is an urban cross-over 4x4 which powerfully reinterprets signature designs, reflecting our mission to give each of our models a unique character, with a strong concept as the starting point. Here, the UX is represented by the powerful, ‘inside out’ design and deconstructed interior styling.

This bold design embodies forward-thinking technologies to provide occupants with a fully immersive experience, generated through innovative three-dimensional HMI technology and cockpit ergonomics - which flow from the driver's body.

The vehicle also features the first design execution of the breakthrough seat technology. The Kinetic Seat Concept has been designed by Lexus in response to a re-evaluation of the principles of car seat occupancy.
