A RARE SOUND RECORDING OF SOUTHERN REGION E1 4-4-0 VICTORIA TO CHATHAM IN SEPTEMBER 1956

This is a rare sound recording of unknown origin (edited to 15 minutes) of British Railway Southern Region 4-4-0 E1 class number 31019 on a train from Victoria to Chatham. To make it a bit more interesting ten photos from my collection are included including five of the loco herself. So sit back close your eyes and experience what it must have been like to travel on a steam train back in 1956 from an era sadly gone forever. Please note that I have now discovered this is an original recording from the Peter Handford collection.
