NYAS Cymru work to champion the rights and voices of young people and children in the care system.
For many of these young people, disrupted education, uncertainty, and limited opportunities have shaped their early lives. Through Taith funding, NYAS Cymru, together with the young people they support, co designed powerful international learning experiences to explore how advocacy for care experienced young people is delivered around the world.
These exchanges have not only brought back new ideas to strengthen support for young people in Wales but also showcased the incredible work already happening here. Their contribution was recognised globally, leading to an invitation from the United Nations for NYAS Cymru to join their Human Rights Committee.
But the impact goes far beyond learning and recognition.
These experiences have built confidence, developed essential life skills, and helped form meaningful and lasting relationships. Most importantly, they have shown the young people that their voices matter—locally, nationally, and on the global stage.
