This is the only way to fix it when it boot loops like that; it took me nearly two weeks to find something that had enough force to actually hit the power button hard enough to turn the Surface on.

The problem is that the bootcode is stored in RAM and this memory can under certain circumstances, such as an update, become corrupted. Forcing the battery to discharge to 0% clears the RAM and copies the boot sequence from the UEFI MaskROM. It's been an issue since SP3 and probably accounts for a solid 25% of 'repairs' by this horrible company.

If you were wondering, it takes roughly 15 to 17 hours of constantly hitting the power button to fully discharge the unit.

I will seriously never buy another Surface again. F Microsoft.
