Thank you to everyone who joined our recent Hylo Community Call! We gathered again across bioregions to explore what we’re craving most from community. Words like belonging, collaboration, curiosity, mutual support, and activation echoed through the call.

This month, we dove deeper into Participatory Funding Rounds, exploring new ways for communities to resource collective action and distribute funds transparently. We covered how to:
Set up a Funding Round
Manage and participate in it
Vote and share results
Create group treasuries and get funds directly to the people doing the work

This month, we featured Nicole, founder and executive director of otherWise — a cosmolocal co-learning community built from generative uncertainty and entangled liberation.

Nicole shared how otherWise emerged from 15 years of teaching and experimenting in food systems and community resilience. “Breakdowns can be breakthroughs,” she reminded us, as she described otherWise’s work in helping people re-village, honor the unraveling, and prefigure what we long for through gift and sharing economies.

At the end of the call we hosted a new member orientation to welcome and support those who have recently joined Hylo. During the call, we received valuable feedback that folks need support in setting up their groups.
