2023 Tank 400 Hi4-T SUV in-depth Walkaround

The Tank 400 Hi4-T SUV, produced by Great Wall Motor and recently launched in China, boasts an impressive 408 horsepower and is priced starting at 38,300 USD.

Inside the vehicle, there's ample space with five seats and a 566-liter trunk capacity. Folding the rear seats expands the trunk to a capacious 1,803 liters. The interior is replete with modern amenities, including a 16.2-inch main screen, a 12.3-inch LCD instrument cluster, and the option for a complementing Head-Up Display (HUD). Additionally, it offers a three-zone climate control system and an impressive 10-speaker audio setup.

Under the hood, the Tank 400 Hi4-T is powered by a sophisticated Hi4-T plug-in hybrid system. This system consists of a 2-liter Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) generating 245 horsepower, coupled with a P3 electric motor providing an additional 163 horsepower. Together, they produce an impressive combined power output of 408 horsepower and 750 Nm of torque. The vehicle is equipped with a ternary (NMC) battery with a capacity of 37.1 kWh, offering an electric range of 105 km. In a mixed driving scenario, the Tank 400 Hi4-T achieves an impressive overall range of 800 km. When the battery is depleted, fuel consumption exceeds 10 L/100km.

In terms of its dimensions, the TANK 400 Hi4-T measures 4,985mm in length, 1,960mm in width, and 1,900mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,850mm. Notably, it features an approach angle of 33°, a departure angle of 30°, a minimum ground clearance of 224mm, and a wading depth capability of up to 800mm. These dimensions and capabilities underscore its suitability for off-road adventures.
