Storytime:

The sunlight reflecting off Loki’s face, the golden beams illuminating his eyes as he smiles at you, brings a warmth to your chest. You’re still getting used to feeling this way. This sort of happiness that takes over your whole body. Leaving you speechless sometimes.

For being the god of mischief, and a frost giant, Loki has a strong sense of warmth that he radiates, especially when he’s around you. He’s all soft smiles, and gentle hugs. Quiet words of praise and love every chance he gets. He can’t help it, you’ve utterly mesmerized him.

The sounds of the city waking up float in through your open window, birds chirping and cars driving by. It’s calming, hearing the sounds of New York in the background.

Loki reaches over to the nightstand by your bed, grabbing a book of poetry he had left there the night before. He wraps his arms around you, holding your back against his chest. You can feel the vibrations of his voice rumbling through him as he begins to read out loud. His deep, quiet voice almost lulling you back to sleep. But you make sure to keep your eyes open, not wanting to miss out on this moment.

As he reads, Loki finds places on your body to gently kiss. The back of your neck, your cheek, the top of your head. Pausing in between poems to press his lips against you. You’re running your hand lightly up and down his legs, tracing patterns on his skin with your fingertips.

You love mornings like this. Where you can stay in your little cocoon together, and avoid any responsibilities for a while longer. But you can hear people in the tower starting to wake up as well; the smell of coffee and breakfast invading your room.

Loki reads the final poem, and with a few final kisses, the two of you get up and start your day.
