And so my Scotland adventure comes to an end; I hope you've enjoyed coming along for the ride.

We depart Glendoe at the southern tip of Loch Ness and then head north east up the Loch towards Inverness. This is all Class G (uncontrolled) airspace, but Inverness Airport is relatively busy and during this flight I hear that I am about to be in the way of an arriving easyJet Airbus 320. I've left in the full comms with Inverness ATC so you can compare with the radio silence we experience on the western coast.

Turning north at Drumnadrochit to maintain separation from the easyJet, we route direct to Beauly at the southern tip of the Black Isle, then follow the northern coast past the Cromarty Bridge up towards the fantastic hotel & airstrip at Newhall Mains before crossing the Cromarty Firth towards Invergordon.

From there we fly south west past Inchindown towards Alness, where I orbit some places that have childhood memories for my wife, before approaching the tricky grass strip at Knockbain Farm. I did intend to land on the first approach, but as I flew low over the humpback strip I realised I had slightly misunderstood the brief so elected to go around and try again.

After landing I discovered that I had just developed a fuel leak from a failed tank bung, which left me stranded. My hero gyro engineer gave up his weekend to drive to Dingwall from Shropshire to replace the bung so that I could fly home the following day. Unfortunately my camera memory cards were full by this point, so there won't be a video of what was a lovely - and relatively swift with a decent tail wind - flight back to Sleap.
