Senator Patty Murray visited Tri-Cities Community Health to express concerns over proposed cuts to Medicaid coverage, warning that the reductions could severely impact Washington residents, particularly in central Washington.

"We are here today because central Washington is going to get especially hard hit by this," said Murray, a Democrat from Washington. "The 4th Congressional District has the highest Medicaid enrollment of any district in our state. This is an area where lots of working-class families benefit from the healthcare tax credits."

Murray criticized Representative Dan Newhouse of the 4th District, who supported the bill, urging him to heed the concerns of local healthcare leaders.
