Condemning Those Who Criticize Charity | Hadith of the Day

Narrated Abu Masud: When the verses about charity were revealed, we used to work as porters. A man came and gave abundant charity, and people said, “He is showing off.” Another man came and gave only a small measure of grain, and they said, “Allah does not need this small charity.” Then Allah revealed: “Those who criticize the believers who give charity willingly, and those who give only what they can afford…” (At-Tawbah 9:79)
