Ran the Wintrust Lakefront 10 Miler yesterday. This was a CARA (Chicago Area Runners Association) event, and it was my first time running this particular event. The race started up at the Wilson track, ran up north a little bit, then came back down along the path to Fullerton, and finally looped back up to the track again.

Along the way, we got some very nice lake views and even had some mercifully not-windy parts. The toughest part of the race for me was having to go over Cricket Hill... twice. The first time wasn't so bad, but I had no idea that we would be going over it a second time. When my running buddy told me about it, we were past the 9 mile point. And it was so discouraging to think about the hill again, I just lost steam.

After the race, there was Lagunitas IPA, so that made up for it. Overall, a super fun race. There were about 1,000 runners for the 10 mile, and they all seemed to be super fit. Usually, I fall within the top 10-20 percent for my age bracket. This race, we were at the 40th percentile.
