The Justly Project and the PNAA have partnered together to share stories of Filipino-American nurses across the nation through our joint initiative in #sparkjustly. This series of oral history interviews will capture significant stories of resilient and courageous FIlipino and Filipino-American nurse leaders in the healthcare field and showcase their compassion and their dedication to serving others through their journey from their home country to the USA. About 150,000 nurses providing front-line care for COVID-19 in the USA are Filipino Americans; our hope is that S.P.A.R.K will enable them to share their stories with others and give a voice to Filipino-American nurses across the nation.

About The Justly Project:
Inspired by the founder’s grandmother, The Justly Project is a non-profit organization established by Elizabeth, a high school student from Massachusetts, that aims to use oral history to support the Filipino and Filipino-American nursing community.

About S.P.A.R.K and PNAA:
S.P.A.R.K is an initiative created by the Philippine Nurses Association of America (PNAA) with a mission to leverage the power of storytelling to engage nurses in highlighting significant Stories of People or mentors, long-lasting Achievement or legacy, Resilience of leaders, and acts of random Kindness by individuals. The PNAA has been a positive force in the Filipino nursing community since 1979, and has influential chapters in different cities across the nation. Nurses worldwide are stressed and feel unsupported: their experiences are a call to greater investment in nursing education and support, says Dr. Pabico.
