Richard Moore, UK’s ambassador to Turkey during the failed coup attempt and currently the chief of the country’s Secret Intelligence Service (known as MI6), stated during a TV program on CNN Turk that the United Kingdom knows that the Gulenist cult was behind the July 15 coup attempt.

Richard Moore: “We [the U.K.] do not consider the Gulen movement a ‘terrorist organization’ because it requires a certain process. However, this is not important, since we know very well that the Gulen movement is behind this coup attempt.”

Moore also stated that the U.K. is open to cooperating with Turkey against Gulen-affiliated institutions in the United Kingdom if evidence is provided.

Moore pointed out that Gulenist cult members had infiltrated many Turkish institutions and he is not surprised the military is one of them.
