Christmas Mountain Trail - 2024

Some friends and I drove the Christmas Mountain trail near Big Bend National park in February of 2024.

The trail is a free and easy shelf road that I think could easily be done in a moderately high clearance vehicle with just 2wd in good conditions. In bad conditions I would recommend 4wd. The trail does require reservations made through calling the Terlingua Ranch Lodge. They offer morning and afternoon reservations on a first come first served basis.

The trail offers some great views even on overcast days like ours.
