This Monthly Meeting of the Indigent Defense Research Association was held April 25, 2025.

Collaborative Defense (CD) is an approachable model of representation that endeavors to meet the diverse needs of public defenders in balancing defense capacity, community needs, and resourcing. Building on the principles of holistic and client-centered defense, the hallmark of collaborative defense is its adaptability geared towards impacting client experience, service delivery, and case outcomes. This session will introduce participants to collaborative defense, share how nonprofit Partners for Justice supports defender agencies to implement these practices, and discuss ongoing impact evaluation efforts.
