“Thai Ice Cream Rolls are an innovative and fascinating way of making ice cream that originated in Thailand. This dessert is prepared on a metal plate chilled to -30° Celsius, onto which a liquid ice cream base is poured. The mixture freezes within a few minutes to form a thin layer, which is then scraped off to form decorative ice cream rolls.
The variety of this dessert lies in its individual design: before freezing, ingredients such as fresh fruit, cookies, chocolate or nuts can be incorporated directly into the base to create a variety of flavors. After rolling, the ice cream can be refined with toppings such as sauces, sprinkles, fresh fruit or cream, turning every ice cream dessert into a visual and culinary experience.
Although it is sometimes referred to as “deep-fried ice cream rolls”, “fried ice cream” or “ice cream pan ice cream”, the name “Thai ice cream roll” has become established in many countries. It combines craftsmanship, creative freedom and exceptional taste - a highlight among modern street food creations.
