Fractals - Over 40 exquisite examples of complex patterns in endless movement and transition.

Описание к видео Fractals - Over 40 exquisite examples of complex patterns in endless movement and transition.

Fractals are never-ending, infinitely complex patterns that are self-similar across different scales. They are created by repeating a simple process over and over in a feedback loop.

Fractals are exquisite structures produced by nature, hiding in plain sight all around us. Our circulatory system, lungs, and brains are fractal structures, as they are like trees. Fractal geometry allows bounded curves of infinite length (think small intestine), and closed surfaces with infinite area (think lungs). It even allows curves with positive volume, and arbitrarily large groups of shapes with exactly the same boundary (think of our brain).

Fractals are important because their formulas have helped make many scientific breakthroughs possible. They help us study and understand concepts like the way bacteria grow, patterns in snowflakes and freezing water, and brain waves, for example.

and they're just a lot of fun to watch!
