Extended flooding of North Florida South Georgia area of the Withlacoochee River from recent hurricanes can damage trees in the flood zone in 3 ways, and ultimately cause their death. Using scenes from the flooded areas, I discuss how damage to surface roots, wash out of soil, and tree bark damage from standing water can result in tree death.
