Indiana Jones and the Great Circle | Full Game Walkthrough | No Commentary

Today we archive the biggest surprise in gaming of 2024. Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is a fantastic game and so much better than initial trailers have you believe. I think many of us expected a linear action game, but nothing could be further from the truth. To my pleasant surprise the actual game is a semi-open world adventure where there is so much to explore, so much to do, so much to see and so many bad guys to plow in the face.
The opening setpiece is brilliant as it replicates the first few minuts of Raiders of the Lost Ark and from there we travel along with Indy to a new adventure. Several artifacts have been stolen and it is up to Indiana Jones to unravel a giant mystery as we travel the entire globe.
You head to three large areas and these are fully open to explore. You can even disguise yourself and travel around without enemies noticing you as long as you don't perform any suspicious actions. This reminded me of the game Hitman and I love that game, so I was so happy to see that implemented here.
The game and it's world are gorgeous and that makes exploring so much fun. The rewards you get for exploring are really useful, which makes exploring all the more rewarding. There are plenty of other games where you get to explore, but the reward is sometimes hardly worth it. But here you find currency, upgrades, codes, keys or can stumble upon entirely new side quests.
There are often multiple routes that you can take to reach your destination and it makes the entire experience so much better. You can take the stealthy approach or go and fight with your haymakers or even go in guns blazing.
The puzzles are also awesome and require you to solve riddles, look for clues or use the enviroment to your advantage. This is by far one of the best adventure games out there. Many other adventure games that promise a "Indiana Jones experience" focus too much on the combat and I feel like The Great Circle nails the balance between exploring, puzzle solving and combat. You are never doing the same thing for too long and it just adds to the variety.
Troy Baker does a fantastic job with his Harrison Ford impression and overal the quality and presentation of this game are top notch. Machine Games has delivered the best game they have ever made and it truly shows that they are a very talented studio. The game is really long and chock full of content, but if a new adventure ever comes our way I will definitely hop on a plane again with my trusty hat and whip!
