One of the most popular arguments against veganism in #India is regarding #shrikrishna. Many people believe that because Shri Krishna drank milk and ate butter, it is a good choice to do the same. But what these people fail to understand is that Shri Krishna personally loved and cared for the cows throughout his childhood. He would never condone the violence and torture cows and farm animals go through today. We have a moral obligation to turn our backs on the meat and dairy industry which is merely a business that treats cows as raw materials to make profit. In today's society, cows are exploited, newborn calves are separated from their mothers in order for their milk to be sold. Female cows are artificially and forcefully impregnated once a year for milk production. Male calves are sent to leather factories where they are skinned alive while other male calves are killed for their meat. In the world we live in, cows are not considered as living beings with rights. Please remember cows must be included in our circle of compassion as dogs and cats are because humans are given the means to protect and nurture the vulnerable souls in our society.
