Ukrainian National Anthem with English translation subtitles

Set to the ethereal singing of Zlata Ognevich and the Cadets of Kyiv Military Lyceum #23, with poetic translation into English subtitles, this is a compilation of drone footage taken in Kyiv, Ukraine, in 2017.

The river shots are all of the Dnipro. The first monument, the Motherland Monument (Rodina-Mat), is a World War II memorial (In an interesting twist, the Ukrainian designer faced it towards Russia). Also featured are the St. Nicholas, Sophia, and St. Michael's cathedrals, the last of which sheltered protestors from police during the Euromaidan revolution in 2013-2014. Towards the end of the video, the memorial to the Holodomor fades into the Statue of Berehynia at Independence Square (Maidan Nezalezhnosti), the center of a succession of mass protests and revolutions in the furtherance of freedom.
