I spent 4 days horse trekking through the mountains of Kyrgyzstan to reach Song Kul Lake — riding for hours each day across open plains, high-altitude passes, and completely remote landscapes.

This was one of the most raw and humbling travel experiences I’ve ever had. No roads, no signal, no comfort — just horses, mountains, and nights spent in yurts under the stars. Song Kul sits high in the Tian Shan mountains and feels like a world away from everything familiar.

In this video, I take you with me on the full journey: long riding days, camp life, unpredictable weather, and what it’s really like to travel through rural Kyrgyzstan on horseback.
