Traditional grip and matched grip. A perennial conversation among drummers and I’m asked why I switch between the two grips more than anything else. I find it a bit mystifying that there’s a large amount of interest and inquiries on the topic so I’ve tried to answer this the best I can and shed some light on why most traditional grip players find joy in both worlds.
