Writings:
Today, CK woke up early to watch the sunrise from the rooftop, catching the first light of the day. Meanwile, MJen took some extra rest to prepare for todays adventure: Roaming around town.

After waving to the local buss driver, the buss stopped and took us to a crossing to walk further to the Pagoda. The Pagoda Talam Alam Lumbini is one of the highlights of the day. Its golden exterior gleamed in the sunlight, and the intricately carved wooden doors inside added to its majestic beauty. The surrounding garden provided a tranquil space to stroll around.

From the Buddism site, the adventure continued to the St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. Lots of wood and interesting building style. Friendly people asked to take some pictures along the way and we helped some students with English homework. Time went faster than expected and the weather changed. For a late lunch, we found a good spot to wait out a thunderstorm; glad to be inside.

The early morning wake up call reminded us that the adventure at Sumatra would come to an end for now. It is definitely an island to go back to sometime.
