Ridgecrest Super Walmart Now Open

The newly constructed building is 203,000 square feet, which is more than double the space of the old building at 97,000 square feet. The additional space also brings about 200 more jobs into the area. Amenities of this new facility include a Drive Thru Pharmacy, Garden Center, a larger Produce section, Deli, Bakery, as well as a Pharmacy and Vision Center.

An opening ceremony was held on the morning of November 16th, with the Burroughs High School Band performing as Boy Scout Troop 848 brought in the American Flag for the National Anthem. Many excited people came to see the new building as the store opened, with many happy associates to greet the customers. Store Manager Jason Haile indicated that if you were born the day this project started, “you would be a junior in High School and have your drivers license”.

Janis Bottorff from the Ridgecrest Chamber of Commerce was “glad that Walmart has chosen us for their community. I think it will be a boom to our community by enticing people in the outlying areas to come and do their shopping here. Hopefully the other larger companies and even smaller companies will choose to come to Ridgecrest for starting up a new business”.

Walmart will be having a Big Family Welcome celebration on Saturday Nov 19th from 11AM-3PM, and Sun Nov 20th from Noon-4PM.
