The complex landscape of this map will not allow civilizations to make more than one mistake, because every conflict, every war, and every fight will inevitably lead to mutual losses, turning even the most successful empires into a dainty bit for the neighbors. It is very tough to build up a killing machine on the swamp, but maybe way too easy to get drowned in it.
